Prior to her role as a Principal Law Clerk, Ms. Felix was an Associate Court Attorney, serving in Kings County Civil Court, handling matters regarding no fault law, consumer debt, small claims and commercial landlord tenant matters. She conferenced these cases with attorneys and litigants and drafted legal opinions on matters in each of these specific areas, as well as provided calendar and scheduling support. She is also formerly an Associate Court Attorney with many years of experience in the Kings County Family Court in the specialties of child abuse and neglect, custody and visitation, juvenile delinquency, kinship guardianship and family offense.
Before her nearly 18 years of service in the Unified Court System as a Court Attorney/Law Clerk, Ms. Felix was a litigation Agency Attorney with the Administration for Children’s Services, litigating cases from inception to trial, dealing with issues of child abuse and neglect. Ms. Felix is also a small claims arbitrator and has been a member of the Small Claims Arbitration Association since 2022. In her capacity as an arbitrator, she decides and issues written decisions on matters involving personal injuries, property damage, contract disputes and landlord tenant issues.
In her time away from the legal world, Ms. Felix volunteers and serves as the treasurer for the parent’s association of the Ronin Shotokan Karate-Do and Fitness Center. She is also committed to her volunteer work as a mentor for the high school law review club at Avenues, the World School, as well as a mentor for the Girls Rule the Law organization. Ms. Felix is passionate about and dedicated to the practice and upholding of the law.
